Playing W/ by Todd Moore

deaddog

PLAYING W/

a dead dog thrown
off a high rail
road embankment
its stiff corpse
lodged in a thicket
of gnarled limbs
til we took big
sticks & coaxed it
to a fall then
roped its huge
paws & ran dragging
it down the cindered
tracks leaving great
gouges of fur &
cracked flesh where
rocks knocked them
off we we stopped when
the head ripped
clear stuck that
hair & bone hulk on
a spiked tree limb
& played catch in
the clearing under
its teeth
